Some lingo

15th June, 2011

Came across another cool lingo-orientated site: http://www.ed-multimedia.com
Great examples and some really interesting techniques and observations for Lingoing in an object orientated way

Hi loyal reader,
yes its been quiet here at the Lingoworkshop. Director is still getting regular use here at MeccaMedialight, but not for 3D casual games (which seems to be primary focus of Adobe's recently updates and enhancements) so there hasn't been much new stuff happening with Director to get excited about (we're using it for kiosks and educational CDs)

Anyway, Martijn has released 'a lingo powered tweenscript' - it looks very sweet. Check it out here:

Shockweave Updated

20th January, 2010

Shockwave updated today (version 11.5.6.606). Rather than failing silently under 64-bit Safari, shockwave now shows an alert dialog asking Mac Users to switch Safari to 32-bit mode. Hopefully the next release will include an actual 64-bit version!

Other changes are:

-- While installing Shockwave on Windows 7, the IE security dialog no longer appears multiple times.
-- Cross domain-Movies no longer crash when loadPolicyFile is called in prepareMovie script.
-- Text-pointToItem of a newline in a text sprite no longer causes the Movie to hang.
-- Text-"item..of" on strings having two item delimiters no longer returns incorrect results.
-- Cross domain- Movie no longer fails silently with multiple levels of cross domain policy.
-- Cross domain- Movie no longer crashes when loadPolicyFile is called in preparemovie script

NoiseCrime's D11.5 demos

21st April, 2009

NoiseCrime recently started a new page on www.noisecrime.com that focuses on the new features of D11.5. It has a number of demos, most are open source to give a starting point for other developers. Currently the main focus is on byteArrays, easily one of the most exciting features Director has had since imaging lingo and SW3D.
